We had our eyes on the weather satellites this week as the first big storm of the season approached the coast of Mexico. It came ashore far south of us with rain and wind, and somehow managed to fling a big rainstorm into Chacala and La Peñita just north of us, but San Pancho escaped with only a cloudy sky, fresh breezes, and beautiful sunsets.
Carol and I took a walk tonight to feel the air and see the beach. The sea was choppy with a surface the color of stainless steel when we first arrived.
As the sun slipped below the clouds, the steely surface reflected the lemony sky.
With the season nearly at an end, the beach restaurants were nearly vacant or had folded their umbrellas early.
But the cool air and the fascination of a storm-transformed sea and sky brought the locals out to sit in the sand...
...to play in the waves...
...or in a handmade puddle...
...to frolic in the buff...
...or to set up a fancy camp and wait for sunset.
The half moon watched in surprise.
The water was warm as the air, the mood as fresh as the breeze.
The clouds darkened and the light continued to change...
...as the sun melted into the sea...
...one more time.
Enjoy your week, wherever you are!
